The London Abercrombie harness is influenced from the later creation of Hunting Tartans in the late 1800s with deep roots into military plaids of dark overlays and almost certainly derives jointly from strident colours of the early synthetic shadings. The checkered design is from the north of the Great Glen the Ross type in which the weave is predominantly blue, green and black. The light evergreen embroidery highlights the foliage of the forest and the dark chestnut brown leatherette ribbing captures the bark of the woods. It has since been associated with historical roles in leading forces, which is collaborated with hunting dogs leading their pack. This royal equestrian pattern has since been popularized in the company of “horses and hounds”.
